Once upon a time albums actually SCARED me. I couldn’t find the right company for me, I purchased and created test album after test album and ended up with a pretty big stack of doorstops. Finally, I found a company I truly loved, only to come face to face with my next challenge: the right design software! Well, thanks to Sandy and Jeff for wanting an album with their wedding package, as I was forced to finally come to some decisions. Well, I got my sample album in the mail, and I am in LOVE. Everything from the layouts to the cover options the company offers I feel bring out the best in my photographic style. I design like my photographs, keep it fun and fresh. I’m not afraid to be artistic and set my albums far apart from your grandmother’s cookie cutter wedding album. Just to give an example, here are a couple of layouts I’ve created for a recent album. Please keep in mind that these are spreads so they run across two pages (look at them as if you opened a book and are looking at both the left and right-hand side pages together).

And the actual album itself is beautifully made. This is the suede cover in the closest I could get to my shade of purple, but the company also offers a number of leather and Japanese silk options. It’s also an acrylic cameo, which turned out to be well worth the extra money over the photo paper option.

I also found a really awesome canvas company to work with and I’m blown away by the detail in the sample canvas I had printed! Sorry the photo is a little on the creative side, but what can I say, I’m not a product photographer 😛

And finally, I saved my newest product for last! Basically my husband and I have done quite a bit of world traveling, and we finally decided it was time to display some of the images we had taken in our home. Well, since I hate cropping my images (I take them how I want them IN CAMERA) I ordered some 16×24 and 11×16 prints. Well, we had a terrible time trying to find frames in the regular stores and they were way overpriced online … I actually think it’s a big scam that no one offers full-frame-size frames to force you to pay for custom framing with pro prints! But I digress! Anyway, my husband being the super handy and talented guy that he is figured it wouldn’t be too hard to just buy the moulding, non-reflective glass, foam board and parts and build them himself. I was skeptical at first, but I also doubted he could build a giant carpeted and insulated doghouse from scratch and I stand WAY corrected. He did an AMAZING job framing these things by hand, and from now on I’ll be offering them and canvases a la carte or in some of my brand spanking new packages (Shh! Coming soon!) See for yourself!

Needless to say I’m now obsessed with my albums and other products and so excited to be able to offer items that I know are truly a step above! Big thanks to my husband, too, for blowing me away with his many talents yet again! I knew I married him for a reason 😉
